Jairo Cerdas Gómez joined Godínez Legal in 2019. Previously, he served as an official at the Sala Segunda of the Supreme Court of Justice of Costa Rica, where he held various administrative positions between December 2015 and October 2017, and subsequently served on an interim basis as a law clerk between November 2017 and December 2018.
As part of the advisory team, he focuses his practice on supporting employers in the prevention and management of employment conflicts, both in the day-to-day operations of companies and in the handling of administrative proceedings.
His experience includes the drafting of employment contracts, the design and review of internal policies, the management of disciplinary proceedings, the handling of inspection proceedings and matters before the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the Costa Rican Social Security Fund, as well as the negotiation and formalization of mediation agreements before alternative dispute resolution centers. He has particular experience advising companies in sectors such as retail, finance and telecommunications.
He has additionally participated in the firm's litigation practice, both in the handling of judicial hearings and in the preparation and follow-up of appeals in labor proceedings.
